Heinrich Himmler

Often considered the architect of the genocide that the nazi's perpetrated Himmler has been called the greatest mass murderer of all time. Some called him simply power-hungry and others claimed he was just anti-semitic. None of this changes the fact that Heinrich was more to blame for the atrocities committed by the nazi party than any other member or person. Heinrich was in complete control of all internal and external police forces including the Gestapo. It was his people that rounded up some 6 million Jews, 4 million Poles, and an untold other number of undesirables. It was Heinrich who was told to find a tool to exterminate these undesirables with untold speed and sickening efficiency. What he and his scientists developed were the gas chambers. Towards the end of WWII he became increasingly concerned that Hitler had lost his vision and continuing the war would lead to the annihilation of the Nazi's. He pleaded with Eisenhower's camp which led to no avail. Finally as the war drew to an end he was captured by the British and quickly recognized despite the fact he was wearing a heavy disguise and had numerous papers. The night before he was due to stand trial he committed suicide by eating a potassium chloride pill. His body was then put into an unmarked grave where no one today knows quite exactly where he lays.
