Interview with Vladimir Srebrov

While researching, I came across an interview with a founding member of the Serb Democratic Party, Vladimir Srebrov. The basis of the interview was Serbia's war with Bosnia. Srebrov spoke about the initial plan of the Serbian government, "the aim of which was to destroy Bosnia economically and completely exterminate its Muslim people." Srebrov was completely against the invasion/extermination of Bosnians. The Muslims of Bosnia were "to be subjected to a final solution: more than 50% of them were to be killed, a smaller part was to be converted to Orthodoxy." Only those who were wealthy, and thus of some value to the Serbs, would be allowed to travel to Turkey. Through these measures, the Serbs hoped to wipe the Muslim faith completely out of Bosnia. Srebrov later stated that "this war was conceived by the General Staff of the former JNA (Yugoslav People's Army). Srebrov claimed that a typed document outlining the government's plan for Bosnia exists, but said document did not state when this plan would become operational. Srebrov referred to his own government as " real cowards. Most of them turned out to be nonentities." I found this interview very powerful, as even one of Serbia's powerful government figures openly criticizes his country's leadership and decisions that his country chose to make.
